Betahistine

Common use

Betahistine is used to treat symptoms of Meniere's disease, such as dizziness (vertigo), ringing in the ears (tinnitus), hearing loss, and nausea. By improving blood flow in the inner ear, it helps reduce these symptoms, allowing better balance and normal daily functioning. Betahistine is classified as a histamine-like medication.

Dosage and direction

Take Betahistine tablet as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water without chewing, crushing, or breaking it. You can take it with or without food, but make sure to take it at the same time every day.

Precautions

Consult your doctor before taking Betahistine if you have kidney or liver issues to ensure its safety and proper dosage.
Betahistine is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Contraindications

Betahistine is contraindicated in patients with known allergies to betahistine and who have asthma and stomach ulcers.

Drug interaction

It is crucial to consult with your doctor before using any prescription or over-the-counter medications.

Missed dose

If you forget a Betahistine dose, take it as soon as you remember. But avoid repeating the dose.

Overdose

Overdose of this medicine can cause nausea, vomiting, digestion problems, and coordination problems, and with higher doses, it can also cause seizures. Inform your doctor and follow the advice accordingly.

Storage

Store Betahistine in a cool, dry place. Keep the product away from light and moisture to prevent damage. Ensure that children do not have access to the medicine. Use the product before its expiration date.
